KPOP-TV’s Music Picks of 2017

2017 for K-pop had it’s ups and downs. Aside from all of the excitement, drama, and sadness, we are here to share our favorite music videos that came out this year. In no particular order, here are our picks! Music start!

Taemin – “Move”

We must have listened to this song 200 times and haven’t gotten tired of it. The sound is unique among songs released this year. Taemin said he purposely requested choreography that challenged expectations of gender and included lots of ballet movements. It’s not easy to be different, but when you do it well it’s more than awesome.

BTS – “DNA”

Besides the early 2000s and the ’90s, the ’80s ruled. The ’80s were just too cool for our ancestors to handle, therefore it ended, but we have BTS to thank for bringing it back.

WINNER – “Really Really”

This track has all the elements that make a great hit including a great groove, a great story, great lyrics that everyone can relate to, and a great performance. This song stays in your head and we love the covers by MIXNINE and Dreamcatcher too.

B.A.P – “Wake Me Up”

After being on hiatus because of mental health issues, Bang Yongguk rejoined B.A.P and co-wrote this song relating to his experiences. The lyrics and music video were so personal which made this comeback so much more special.

Dreamcatcher – “Chase Me”

Dreamcatcher came out with an exciting title track and music video! We love how it feels almost like the opening of an amazing anime.

MILLIC FEAT. FANXY CHILD – “Paradise”

This collaboration strikes gold. The color palette and trippy visuals bring together the beat and lyrics of each member’s part. Also, Dean singing the lyrics that talk about pancakes is the best.

B1A4 – “Rollin'”

We love this because of the upbeat sound. It was filmed in Australia when the country was having its summertime so the music video has a very fun, carefree feeling to it.

Offonoff – “Dance”

This song is so relaxing, yet so catchy, and made us want to dust off our instruments again! It’s so laidback but still gets our heads bobbing and grooving. It’s a great song to walk or drive home to after work.

NCT Dream – “My First and Last”

This comeback was the first to secure a win for any NCT unit and it’s easy to see why. This song is a deadly mixture: it’s next level cute and next level addicting. Add in amazing choreography created by Tony Testa — known for his work for artists including EXO, Super Junior, SHINee and BTS — and it’s easy to see why this song was such a hit. Seriously, we dare you to listen to it once and not want to sing or dance along.
