KPOP-TV’S STAFF PICKS OF 2019

K-pop in 2019 gave us many quality bops. We’ve narrowed it down for you to some of our favorites from this year. Enjoy!

Red Velvet – “Sunny Side Up!”

Addictive, chill reggae vibes with fun choreography to match. Even though there’s no music video, they were able to promote it with a few live stages. It’s one of their best B-sides.

VAV – “Give me more (Un Poco Mas) (Feat. De La Ghetto & Play-N-Skillz)”

VAV was so powerful in 2019! They had their first US tour, performed at KCON Japan for the first time, and came out with this amazing song with Korean, Spanish and English lyrics.

CLC – “Devil”

We just can’t get it out of our minds. The driving bass line and the storyline saying “I’ve had enough from you” sets up the members of CLC as strong women ready to get even.

JBJ95 – “불꽃처럼 (Spark)”

JBJ95 have perfected the model for uptempo tunes that are still mellow enough to do homework to.
For this one, they put together a dance full of point dances, pantomime, and teamwork that perfectly expresses their lively and pure energy.

IU – “Love Poem”

2019 definitely had moments where you needed a friend to lean on. For those times, IU’s “Love Poem” was the perfect song to put on and feel the comfort that her emotional vocals provide in this ballad. The soft melody wraps around you like a warm hug and reminds you to take a breath and that we’re not alone during the hard times.

ONF – “Why”

We like “Why” because of the feels it gives us while listening to it. Sadly, Laun left the group this year, and it’s reflected in this video as the rest of the members are trying to find him.

SUNMI – “LALALAY (날라리)”

“LALALAY” is a super catchy and a great song to jam to. We like the unique aesthetic the music video gives off and the choreography is super cool!

Oh My Girl – “BUNGEE (Fall in Love)”

So upbeat and perfect for summer!

NU’EST – “Bet Bet”

No words can explain our love for “Bet Bet”!

Chungha – “벌써 12시 (Gotta Go)”

“Gotta Go” really showcased a different side of Chungha. It’s a catchy beat that leaves a feeling of winter for us.

ATEEZ – “Say My Name”

This song really showcases the talents of the team. The vocals are extraordinarily good, the dance is unique, and they show off a strong edgy image for a rookie group.

A.C.E – “삐딱선 (Savage)”

A.C.E puts their own twist on trap music in this song. This song encourages a smooth mood with high energy. The choreography with the music video gives each member a moment to shine with video inserts and daring outfits.

WooSung – “FACE”

This year, WooSung from The Rose made his anticipated solo debut. His sultry voice paired with the clever imagery in “FACE” just takes us to outer space. The first guitar riff pulls you immediately into the song and takes you on a trip where you’ll be dancing amongst the stars.
