With their latest release, EPEX marks a defining milestone in their career, closing out their Youth trilogy that has traced their growth and signals their continuous evolution as artists. Their third full-length album, ROMANTIC YOUTH, reflects on the acceptance of farewells, the process of healing, and the power of friendships and relationships that carry us forward. Their title track, “Grateful to Tears,” captures the emotional weight of accepting the need to move on, and looking back at past heartbreaks with gratitude and a smile.
ROMANTIC YOUTH leans into the group’s more pop-rock sound, while still showcasing sweet vocals and heartfelt lyrics that speak to the bittersweet feeling of growing up. As the members reflect on their early trainee days, we learn how many of their experiences shaped them, and allowed them to approach this closing chapter of the trilogy with the same youthful perspective. For fans who have grown alongside the group, the trilogy serves as a soundtrack to their own coming-of-age stories.
In their interview with Music Makers, the members share their first impressions of one another, reflect on how their music has evolved over the years, and reveal who takes the lead in keeping the group’s energy alive. From personal anecdotes to their hopes for how the message in their music is received, EPEX opens up in a way that shows both their growth and their enduring playfulness.
