The Asian Art Museum in San Francisco will be the host to many festivities leading up to Lunar New Year. On Sunday February 8 the museum invites visitors to experience live music and dance, including the traditional lion dance. Visitors will also get to learn about Asian culture and participate in various activities such as storytelling and art projects.
More Lunar New Year events will also take place at Westfield San Francisco Centre.
This year will be Year of the Ram. Many countries in Asia as well as Asian communities across the globe celebrate this holiday. People born during Year of the Ram are said to be clever, polite, and compassionate. The official day of Lunar New Year this year falls on the day of February 19.
